Dave
Dave has been deeply
involved in mountaineering, hill walking and travel to remote
areas for over 30 years and has been a member of numerous
mountaineering expeditions, including Everest North Face.
He is a member of the
Alpine Club and has a number of first ascents, in both summer
and winter, to his credit. He has also been involved in
leading and instructing groups of novice mountaineers from
military units in the French Alps, the Rocky Mountains and
the Karakorum.

In 1994, Dave was awarded
the Territorial Decoration in recognition of over 23 years
service to the Territorial Army, in which he reached the
rank of Major.
Dave's lifelong interest
in wild places and mountainous areas was rewarded in 1995
when he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
Dave has a Summer Mountain Leader (MLS), Winter Mountain
Leader (MLW) and Single Pitch Award (SPA). He joined the
BAEML (British Association
of European Mountain Leaders) in 1993.

wife Joyce accompanies him on most organised treks looking
after the logistics; dropping off and picking up walkers
and transporting rucksacks/camping gear etc.
Joyce is an experienced mountaineer in her own right having
climbed and walked in Nepal, Europe and North America. Joyce
is especially fond of Scotland and has extensive knowledge
of the Torridon and Sutherland hills.
